3 Lego Party Tips you need to know!

3 Lego Tips

Legos make great visual inspiration but its super easy to get overwhelmed with the colors and shapes. With these three simple tips you turn your Brick-or Lego-Party into a stunningly eye-catching experience!

  1. Color Theme. The biggest (and easiest to avoid) mistake to make is using all the colors for the whole party. I know our first instinct is to get all the Brick Printed party gear for the party. Those prints are great in small amounts, we use them all the time. But all that color everywhere will burn out your guests’ retinas. So, choose one Main Color and then Accent Colors to support and pop around the room. With Brick Parties there are a great range of colors to choose from.

Some quick color theory to think about: warm colors (Red, Yellow, Orange) draw your attention and are exciting.Cool colors (Blue, Green, Purple) give your eyes a place to rest and move your attention.White brightens the space and Black brings other elements into focus.

With this in mind you might pick Red as your main color to engage the kids into playing and blue and yellow to move your eyes and lighten the atmosphere. Primary colors are great universal appeal.

Another theme we love is White or Black as the main color and all the Brick colors as accent colors. This gives you surprising and exciting pops of color all over.

2. Shape Elements. The next part of a stunning space is shapes. This part is super easy. Seriously, it’s all about balance. Frame important parts of your party with 2 similar elements. See how the cake is framed in on this example? Symmetrical pieces visually elevate the importance the cake. Then create interest by staggering the heights and sizes of the decor. This invites your guests to look around and notice all the little details you put into this event.

3. The Power of Threes (yep did that on purpose). This is the biggest trick in every kind of design. When you are putting everything together try clustering pieces into “3’s.” It is visually and mentally appealing. Plus, it creates that accidently stylish look that is totally on purpose (seriously, look a Martha Stewart magazine and your mind will be blown). Try these simple ideas: stack the Big plate, Small plate, and napkin. Cup with fork and knife inside. Platter with food and a name tag. Make 3 colors of favor bags. Decorations too: Tablecloth, horizontal runner and a vertical runner. Combine step and 3 with 3 paper lanterns hanging at different elevations. Set out a big candy container with 2 smaller ones.
